Common questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
No, not to start, and not to trial. The Free plan needs no payment details, and every paid plan begins with a 14-day no-card trial of the full Growth toolkit. You only add a card if you choose to stay on a paid plan when the trial ends; otherwise you roll onto Free automatically.
I don't have a website. Can I still use this?
Yes, that's the point. Every plan, including Free, comes with a real bookable website built from your Google listing, live on yoursalon.suddenly.co.nz. Pop in your business name and suburb, add your services, and it's live in minutes. No $3,000 build and no separate web subscription. Add your own photos from Starter, and your own domain (mysalon.co.nz) on Pro.
What happens when I hit my booking cap?
Your widget lets customers know online bookings are temporarily unavailable and directs them to call you, and you'll see an upgrade prompt in your dashboard. Bookings reset on the first of each calendar month.
How does annual billing work?
Annual billing is about 20% off (≈2.4 months): you pay $276/$660/$1,236 a year on Starter/Growth/Pro instead of $348/$828/$1,548 monthly — a saving of roughly $72/$168/$312. Billed annually in advance via Stripe; switch between monthly and annual any time from your dashboard.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your dashboard at any time. You keep access until the end of your billing period with no extra charges.
What happens when my 14-day trial ends?
Nothing breaks and you're never charged by surprise. There's no card on file, so the trial can't auto-convert. At day 14 your account simply moves to the Free plan. Keep Growth, switch to the plan you picked, or stay on Free. Upgrade whenever you're ready.
What counts as a booking?
Each completed booking through your widget or standalone booking page counts as one. Bookings reset at the start of each calendar month.
Are SMS and email reminders included?
Both are live. Email confirmations and reminders are unlimited on every plan, including Free. SMS confirmations and reminders are included on every paid plan. Starter, Growth and Pro each carry a monthly text allowance, sent from a New Zealand number with your business name in the message. Customers can reply STOP to opt out anytime.
Is there a limit on how many customers Sally can chat with?
For everyday use, no. Sally answers your customers around the clock on every plan. There's a generous daily fair-use limit — far above what a normal salon ever reaches — purely to protect against abuse and runaway costs. In the rare event a very high-traffic day approaches it, your booking page and forms keep working so customers can still book, and we'll reach out before it affects real customers. It's a safety backstop, not a per-message charge.
Is Suddenly Sorted built for New Zealand businesses?
100%. Prices are in NZD, the assistant uses NZ English, and everything is tuned for the NZ market.
