Connecting Google keeps one source of truth for your time. When a customer books, it lands in Google Calendar; when you already have something in Google, that time is treated as busy so Sally won't offer it. Available on Starter and above, and it connects the owner's Google account.
What the sync does
- Bookings appear in Google. Every appointment Sally takes is written to your connected Google Calendar, and reschedules and cancellations made in Suddenly Sorted update the Google event too.
- Your Google events block availability. Anything already on your Google Calendar — a dentist appointment, a personal event — marks that time as busy, so it's never offered as a free slot.
- One thing to know: moving a booking's event around inside Google doesn't update the booking in Suddenly Sorted. Reschedule bookings from your Suddenly calendar (or let the customer do it from their manage link) and the change flows through to Google.
How to connect
Open Calendar sync
In your dashboard sidebar, click Calendar sync.
Connect Google Calendar
Click Connect Google Calendar and sign in with the Google account that holds your work calendar. Google will ask you to grant access — approve it to continue.
Confirm it's linked
Back in the dashboard, the Calendar sync card shows your connected status. From here new bookings sync automatically.
Sync stopped working?
If Google revokes access (a changed password, a security review, or you removing the app in Google), your dashboard shows a "Google Calendar needs reconnecting" banner. One tap on Reconnect, approve the Google prompt again, and new bookings start writing to Google straight away. Bookings made while the sync was broken stay safe in Suddenly Sorted — they just weren't added to Google.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from the Calendar sync page. After disconnecting, new bookings stay inside Suddenly Sorted and stop writing to Google.
